After days of constant rain, a high pressure system has brought us some days of dry weather.  It's nice and bad all at the same time.  The winds change from the north east to the south west bringing in VOG.  Because of the recent eruptions the sulfur content is huge.  Parts of Volcano National Park has been closed to visitors because of the high sulfur content in the air.

There was an eclipse of the moon a few days back.  We got only a partial view of the eclipse.  But it was spectacular in any event.  The nights have been clear and chilly with temperatures dropping to the low 60's.  We are expecting rain starting this week.

Orchidland drive

Our roads have deteriorated pretty badly here in the subdivision.  The board doesn't seem to have a clue about what to do about it.  Lawsuits keep going back and forth between those that want a compliance with road fees and those that want a voluntary system.  Either way, the roads are falling apart.  With the exception of some of the roads where some board members live.  Fresh grating and smoothing out the potholes seem to to get fixed where the board members live, but not anywhere else apparently.

On the Orchidland Yahoo website, residents comments have expressed dismay about the conditions of the roads.  I took a ride around the subdivision to see for myself and indeed the roads are in pretty poor shape.  Meanwhile, our road fees are going to pay lawyers fees and the roads fall further into disrepair.

Even the lizard doesn't know what to do.
