Here in the rainbow state we have our politics Hawaiian style. It's really not much more different than politics anywhere else, but there are stories that catch my attention that I have to point out, the shear stupidity.
Starting from the east to west, our first story comes to us from our former home state of New Jersey where in the mist of an economic crisis the questionable logic of raising taxes is a favorite budget fix tactic by Governor John "I promise not to raise your taxes" Corzine.

Yes, the governor that gets shuttled around New Jersey's pay-to-ride highways at 90 to 100 miles per hour endangering his own life and others wants to raise the tolls.
When he goes before the Legislature on Tuesday, Gov. Jon Corzine will
propose raising as much as $40 billion to pull the state back from the
financial brink by asking motorists to tolerate higher tolls
You remember the story where the Governor Corzine was involved in a so called hit-and-run accident that later turned out to be false. Not wearing seat belts and weaving in and out of traffic at 90 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone just to get to a news conference regarding Don Imus. Corzine proves just how dangerous and stupid he is on the road and in office.

Onward westbound to California where the state wants to remotely control your thermostat.
"There is nothing wrong
with your thermostat. Do not attempt to adjust the temperature. We are
controlling your power consumption. If we wish to make it hotter, we
will turn off your air conditioner. If we wish to make it cooler, we
will turn off your heater. For the next millennium, sit quietly and we
will control your home temperature. We repeat, there is nothing wrong
with your thermostat. You are about to participate in a great
adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which
reaches from the inner mind to... SACRAMENTO
!"*
!"*It seems more like an episode of the Twilight Zone than the Outer Limits, but there you have it. The environmentalist terrorist and the nanny state politics of California have proposed revisions to Title 24 to install in every home a "programming communicating thermostat" that will control the temperature of your house. In effect, taking your right to heat and cool your house the way you want away from you. So the State of California says that you are too stupid to control your own environment in your home.

Meanwhile
Now that we are going into the 2008 election season, it's time for a change.

That's the new political buzz word: Change!

Listen closely to what these democrat candidates are saying. Get rid of the Bush tax cuts, more government social programs, go after corporations and take their profits away. Has anyone considered that people work for corporations? Tax breaks allows corporations to grow and hire more people. Increasing taxes on corporations just means the price of goods will go higher. Corporations will pass the tax on as higher cost of goods and services to the consumer. Higher corporate taxes means less job growth, higher unemployment and higher cost of living. We all benefit from the tax cuts in some form. Government social programs cost money, your tax money. It not free, somebody has to pay for government services and that somebody is we the taxpayers.

Take some time to learn what the candidates are saying.
Don't be stupid and believe what these candidates are claiming what government can do to solve our problems. The government can't even solve its own problems. What makes them think they can solve our problems. Do you want a government bureaucracy making decisions for you? Your money, taxes and health care? Less government and lower taxes equals more money and more freedom.

Consider the hypocrisy
Who wants you to change your lifestyle, the car you drive, the house you live in?
They don't have to change their lifestyles, do they?
Who wants you to change your lifestyle, the car you drive, the house you live in?
They don't have to change their lifestyles, do they?
So, what's for dinner?
