From my point of view, because that's all that matters.
As the year 2007 closes out and we get ready to welcome 2008, a review of the event in 2007 that effected out lives.
Some serious and some funny.

North Korean Marching Soldiers
It just seemed funny to me. They look more like the Rockettes.

January had me reporting on the weather and how rainy January was.
February broke the constant rain that January left behind. Magnificent rainbows filled the sky during the day and at clear skies at night brought forth brilliant stars. February was also a huge wind storm from the south west that brought in huge amounts of Vog. This was also the time when the Senator from Massachusetts, John Kerry, called the military soldiers a bunch of uneducated losers stuck in Iraq. I had more brilliant political rants in February that included some great political cartoons.

In March, some holes in the Great Global Warming Swindle started to unwind. We had our first trip to the Imiloa where we got a chance to see the exhibits and take in a show at the planetarium. A visit to Kapoho to see some strange houses at the beach. It was also the beginning of spring and the orchids were blooming. March ended with a celebration of Prince Kuhio Day.
April was a slow month for blogging, but was a busy month.
May brought in more stories about flowers, the doggies and a trip to the East Hawaii Cultural Center to see a live concert. The Merry Month of May was interesting enough though. I did a brilliant article on the price of gas. An magnitude 4.7 earthquake hit the island. Memorial Day was also the Inter-tribal Pow Wow.
June provided some new directions. Dry arid conditions made drought conditions a real problem. We were involved in a car accident and I built the chicken coup. King Kamehameha day was celebrated. There were some great quotes from Czech Republic. We got chickens. New laws came on the books. I turned 50.
July brought a road trip to Saddle Road and to West Hawaii. Strange creatures were being discovered. Signs were everywhere. Hurricane season was starting with Cosme. Lychee's nuts and Macadamia nuts were ripening.
August was heating up and a trip to Volcano House was delicious. Summer was in gear and it was the dog days of summer. A trip to Volcano National Park was fun. The arrival of Hurricane Flossy threaten the Island and a 5.3 magnitude Earthquake must have frighten the hurricane away. Admission day for Hawaii. Earthquakes unleashed a new lava flow.

September was a nice Labor Day holiday and news that the lava flows were heading towards Pahoa. La Nina was continuing and another earthquake happened, but no damage. Remembrance of 911 victims. Lava flows were increasingly moving towards Puna. Voices from the past and eggs were being laid by the chickens and vegetables were harvested. The Super Ferry was in legal limbo and a visit to Hilo Bay was refreshing. Newspapers were filled with interesting stories.

October started Ho'olaulea and a great story about cats. A flower exposition was in full gear. More Super Ferry stories were surfacing and Orchidland was being sued. We remember the great earthquake of 2005 and people were speaking out in favor of the Super Ferry. We got a new grill and took a trip to the beach. Then there was Halloween.
November brought in ripe avocados and early winter skies. France's new president said some nice things about the USA. I had some amusing thoughts about the year. Thanksgiving was filling and educational at UH. Some foolish statements about global warming were making the papers and the worst of politics were being made.
December saw the first snows on Mauna Kea and the war on Christmas had begun in earnest. Lokahi annual traditions were in full swing. It was also seems the season for all sorts of political correctness to unset the holiday spirit. A winter storm blew in huge winds and lots of Vog. More sillyness on global warming and we learned a few new things. December brought in winter with lots of rain. The Count Down to Christmas had begun.
Palm Trees and Mauna Kea
As always in 2007,
