It's the CHRISTMAS SEASON

The heavy rains and cold front has put fresh snow on the Mauna Kea.  An hour drive up to the summit and we can play in the snow.  After that, we can drive to the beach an do some surfing.  This only happens in the winter season.  All the radio stations are playing Christmas Music and all the stores are geared up with Christmas gifts.

But wait, somewhere in the United States, there is a.....

Yes, unfortunately, there is a War on Christmas.  It first started years ago with stores forbidding employees to say "Merry Christmas".  It was deemed as offensive to some.  But whom would be offended was never told.  Activists groups like the ACLU have sued townships for putting up nativity scenes.  Claiming the Separation of Church and State.  However, nowhere in the United States Constitution does it say Separation of Church and State

Political correctness gone amuck.   Click on the graphic below to learn more.

The new Lowes catalog had this "Family Tree" advertisement in their list of items.  However....,

The company said the posting of an ad for "family" trees" was an error in publication that "was not caught before the publication was distributed."

"Lowe's … is disappointed in the breakdown in the proofing process," the company said.

A mistake?  A correction?  Lowes has since issued a statement claiming the publication was a mistake, but how did it happen in the first place?

Here a few more examples of the War on Christmas to ponder:

In Eugene, Ore., the city manager sent out a five-page memo banning Christmas trees from city buildings on the grounds that they are religious symbols that could be offensive to non-Christians.

In Cobb County, Ga., Linda Clark, the principal of Durham Middle School, sent a memo to teachers and staff telling them not to use the word "Christmas" because "it is important that our lessons, discussions and decorations remain religion-free."

The American Civil Liberties Union is challenging the placement of nativity scenes in Lincoln, Neb., Lexington, Mass., Lafayette, Ind., and elsewhere. In Newton County, Ga., school authorities switched the term "Christmas break" to "semester break" to avoid a threatened ACLU lawsuit.

There is no doubt about a War on Christmas as related to the Political Correctness activist groups.  The question is...., what makes Christmas offensive to some?  Is it real or imagined?  Except for the ACLU, I have never heard anyone complain or be offended by Christmas.  Have you?

A New York City school is accused of religious discrimination for allowing the display of Islamic and Jewish symbols, but not Christian symbols.

According to the Catholic League, Dr. Fran Levy, principal of the Thomas Jefferson Magnet School of Humanities in Flushing, N.Y., issued a memo directing teachers to bring religious symbols to school that represent Kwanzaa and the Islamic and Jewish religions, but excluded Christianity, with the exception of a Christmas tree, which is a secular symbol.

The Christmas Tree as secular symbol?  Then why is it called a Christmas tree?

Exhibit A: The offensive secular Christmas tree.
And with lights!
