WELINA MAI LEKEMAPA
Greetings December
Aloha, Maika'i Po'aono Kakou!
Hello, Good Saturday to All!
I've just about completed the upstairs flooring. I have a lot of before and after pictures.
We've started decorating for Christmas. It's hard to believe we are going to spend our second Christmas here on the island!
So let's take a drive and talk story!
Down this... uh, street...

Don't worry, I can pronounce it. All, if not most of the street names here are in Hawaiian and they mean something!

This is where I bought my guitar!

On sunny days when it gets hot, there is no lack of finding cool shade.

The sea wall here on Hilo Bay helps prevent the water from flooding the road. However, on high surf days and storms, nothing holds back the moana kai (ocean sea).

The saying "makai" means: "towards the ocean". The saying "mauka" means: "towards the mountain. The sentence, "hele mai mauka kakou", means lets go towards the mountain! Let's get a better look of Hilo bay from a higher elevation.

Along the way, we pass a place along Kamehameha Avenue with a gazebo used for gatherings and entrainment!

Al lighthouse, well, a very small lighthouse.

On the way, passing mahi 'ai nui (many farms). Moku o Keawe ( the island of Hawai'i) has many farms.

Finally, we reach our goal. What a view!

There are many lookout places here on the island. Looking towards Hilo.

Heading makai, see the ocean in the distance!

The cruise ships are in!

All this running around has made me pololi loa (very hungry)!
SO, WHAT"S FOR DINNER!

Korean style teriyaki beef on a garden salad!
Aloha, a hui hou!
